First pregnancy, so this may be a stupid question to people but I am just a bit confused about all the gender conversations. I see all these gender reveals on social media, but then in these threads I’m seeing people find out from their blood test results or ultrasounds! If you want it to be kept a secret do you have that option? Or what are the options? I’m totally new to all of this and feel so lost about so many things lol.

you just ask the nurse to not show you on the ultrasound you can have them put your ultrasound that reveals the gender in an envelope and give it to whoever will be in charge of your reveal, same thing with blood test results

Are you asking if you don’t want to find out at all? You can just ask them to not show it on the ultrasound or talk about it and if you choose to do a blood test when they call to say the results are in to not discuss the gender. We found out through the blood test and wanted to do a gender reveal. So when they called to tell me the results were in we discussed everything but the gender and I gave her my best friends number to call to tell her so she could set up the cupcakes we were going to bite into

I’m in the UK so we don’t get the options of finding out via blood test, we’re offered to know at the 20week scan or can pay privately from 16 weeks for a gender scan
