(Looks like yesterday's post decided it would wait until today!)In May of 1979, we had our 25th Birthday! 🎉 At an anniversary celebration, North Carolina Agriculture Commissioner James A. Graham, guest speaker, cited the first 25 years as a “solid foundation for the future.”“Who can say today, the return the citizens of the county have received from the initial $40,000 investment to buy the land on which the hospital now sites? … This is only an introduction to the good things which are to come,” said Graham.#InspireWellbeing #70YearsofHealing

As part of our 70th Anniversary celebration, we're honoring some of our longest-serving employees! Next up is Marsha Tomlin, a registered nurse in the Emergency Department!Marsha has worked at Iredell Health for almost 47 years. Her decision to become a nurse stemmed from a life-changing incident when she was just a child, and she hasn't looked back since.“I chose Iredell because it just felt like home. The staff welcomed me with open arms and took me under their wing and watchful eye,” said Tomlin. Congratulations to Miles Atkins, who has been named the new Executive Director for the Iredell Health Foundation!Atkins has worked for Iredell Health System since 2012 as the Director of Corporate Affairs and Government Relations. He also served as Mayor for the Town of Mooresville from 2011 to 2023. “I see the Foundation as an opportunity to get more of the community engaged with Iredell Health System to understand who we are and that we are the giving arm of the system,” said Atkins. “The Foundation provides a way for community members to get to know our healthcare organization on a different level.” Learn more: https://buff.ly/3XcTvyc
