I found the sex scenes to be more about his emotions and what he was feeling than about the sex because he's never experienced that type of emotional connections before. It's just silly, but not in a funny way. I sensed no chemistry between any of the actors, especially not between the leads. Dylan is naturally funny and charismatic, two things all the other actors were completely lacking. Besides this, the movie didn't make much sense overall.
